The factory exhaust manifolds on the BMW E46 M3 are unequal in length. To optimize exhaust flow, the SunBeam Racing Front Pipe features an equal-length design.
During development, we worked closely with Vehicle Engineering to test prototype units on a chassis dynamometer.
With the factory front pipe, the test vehicle produced 309 hp. After installing the SunBeam Racing Front Pipe, output increased to 320 hp, representing a gain of 11 horsepower.
The improvement is not limited to peak power. Both horsepower and torque are increased throughout the entire RPM range, providing stronger acceleration and improved throttle response.
Because many E46 M3 owners already use aftermarket rear mufflers, we also conducted dyno testing with several popular rear exhaust systems. Just as we found with the E92 M3, the front pipe proved to be one of the most effective upgrades for increasing engine performance.
For customers seeking even greater performance, our partner Vehicle Engineering also offers a custom DME (ECU) calibration designed specifically for this front pipe. With this calibration, an additional gain of approximately 10 horsepower can be expected. The software is also programmed to prevent the Check Engine Light (CEL) from illuminating.

E46/M3はエキマニの長さが異なる為、フロントパイプにて等長に制作しております。
また制作にあたってテスト品をビークルエンジニアリング社にご協力頂き、ノーマルからレーシングフロントパイプに変更したパワーチェックを行いました。
ノーマルで309馬力に対して、11馬力アップの320馬力をマーク。
一部だけ馬力アップしている訳ではなく、全域でのパワー＆トルクUPをする事が出来ます。
また、既にリアマフラーを装着されている方も多いと思いますので、代表的なリアマフラーとの組み合わせでもパワーチェック。
やはりE92/M3同様フロントパイプがパワーアップの決め手になります。
更に弊社のパートナーのビークルエンジニアリング社でDMEチューニングをした場合はプラス10馬力ほど出力アップが見込めます。 （このDMEチューニングした場合はエンジンチェックランプは点灯しないように書き込みます）
